My name is Andie Gomez-Patron, and I have a Ph.D. in Geological Sciences from Cornell University, working with Dr. Matt Pritchard. During my Ph.D., I was predominantly funded as a National Science Foundation (NSF) Graduate Research Fellow (GRFP). I have a B.S. from Northwestern University in Electrical Engineering, with a minor in Earth and Planetary Sciences, and certificates in Design Engineering and Civic Engagement.

I am interested in understanding volcanoes, rifts, and other geologic hazards using various remote sensing techniques and geophysical instruments. I am passionate about volcano forecasting and other natural hazard assessment.

 

When I am not studying volcanoes and satellite imagery, I am probably playing pick-up soccer with my friends, working on random building projects, or reading.
